Poetry, In MY Opinion Is....
Outcomes: You can express clearly and with conviction a personal point of view, and be able to support that position. You recognize that spoken language reveals values and attitudes such as bias, beliefs, and prejudice, and understand how language is used to influence and manipulate.
You are going to prepare a (very brief) speech/presentation on what you think of poetry. Just tell myself and the class what you think, and give the reasons! Reasoning could include past experiences, everyday life, friends, family, the media, and so on. Bonus points for presenting in the form a poem! J
You will be assessed on your presentation skills, and the reasoning you give for your opinions/feelings toward poetry. For an A, I am looking for a presentation with a clear voice, and at least three solid reasons.
