POPULATION DENSITY shows how many and how close people live together in a given area. In the map above, the darker colours show more densely populated areas. This means more people live there, and probably in a smaller area. For example, Halifax is MORE densely populated than New Ross. More people live in Halifax, closer together. In New Ross, fewer people live, but they are also spread out.
